Prayer Is an Act of Faith (Even on Hard Homeschool Days)

Bible open beside coffee cup with 'PRAY' letters on fabric, depicting peaceful study.

My pastor says faith is spelled R.I.S.K. I heard another pastor say faith is spelled T.R.Y. Lately I have been thinking faith is spelled P.R.A.Y.

Hebrews 11:6 says And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Every time I pause to pray, bring a concern to the Lord, or seek His wisdom, I am exercising faith.

I am trusting in the God of the universe to help me, care for me, and give me guidance.

I believe that He hears my requests and can do mighty work in whatever I bring to Him.

No problem is too big- or even too small- for our God.

I can pray when I lack peace.

I can pray when I have a child who is struggling.

I can pray when the children bickering more often and when I find myself losing sight of my mission as a mother.

Mother and children baking together in a cozy home setting.

Prayer doesn’t have to be long, although sometimes I might have a lot to say.

It doesn’t have to be pretty.

It can be simple.

It can be written in a journal- I have journals filled with prayers.

It can be done in the shower, while washing dishes, or on knees in the quiet hours.

These days at home, discipling and educating our children, is hard and good work. The kind of work that requires endurance, compassion, and God’s grace.

I need to go to Him as I seek to live out what He has called me to do with excellence.

Prayer and time with the Lord is vital.

Friends, let us be women who please our God with our faith by coming to him in prayer.

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. “
